Situated far from maddening crowd of the city is
Vanasthalipuram, considered to be the biggest
colonies of Asia. This two decades old colony,
in the beginning of the 19th century, was a
densely wooded area boasting an abundance of
wild animals and was the famous hunting ground
or shikarghar of the Nizam of Hyderabad. Hence
it is named as Vanasthalipuram. This once
beautiful grassland today regarded as
‘janasthali’ with over a lakh population in
about 42 colonies in and around this locality,
this soon has become the preferred colony by
many employees both private and government.
Mahavira Harina Vanasthali – deer park, the
Vipasana Mediation Centre, the Venkateswara
Swamy temple and the Somnatha Kshetram are some
of the attractions of this area.
Vanasthalipuram is located at around 18Kms from
MGBS Bus stand, on Hyderabad-Vijayawada High
Way.The main shopping area's in
Vanasthalipuram are Ganesh Temple and NGO's
Colony. There are 2 cinema threatres namely

within a Km from each other.
Ramoji Film city, Deer Park, Mout Opera ...
are a couple of attrative spots for tourism cum
entertainment located within 10-15Kms from
Vanasthalipuram on Hyd-Vijayawada High Way.
Itz really a peaceful area to live. There are
ample number of buses plying to different
routes.Vansthalipuram although is not a tourist
attractive place, can be developed into one such
with the help of LB Nagar Municipality.
It lacks good number of restaurants and hotels.
The nearest spot where one can find these is
